Developing Trends
"The home of Fonebook"

Welcome to Developing Trends!

Whenever there is a new bit of technology I try my best to learn it - but I think there is no better way to learn it than use it in anger. Here is the product of said anger!

The Google Searcher is the first example - this was built because I wanted to learn about Windows Presentation Foundation which is funny because vista gadgets don't use this technology but I decided to continue anyway!

Next up was actually my Sql Searcher but I didn't release that until after Fonebook. This was developed to help me with a project for work and not really as a way of learning new technologies but it is pretty useful so I released it anyway

Finally (until the next thing is released) was Fonebook. I had just started to use Facebook when I found the API and just had to write something for it. The original idea was born out of a blog posting on Jason Langridges blog which then kinda spiralled! Initially it was a boring Windows application that did the job but then I decided I really did want to learn all about WPF and so added that in to.

So what's next then... Well I have just sat the beta exam for WCF (Windows Communication Foundation) so don't be too surprised if you see that integrated into Fonebook at some point!
